Anna Bar, MD, is an academic medical center and Veterans Administration systems thought leader. She has a 16+ year career in Dermatologic Surgery where she has had a special interest in research, having published over 40 abstracts, book chapters, and scientific articles in the medical literature. Her publications include early work with Dr. Gareau on the utility of ex vivo confocal technology in dermatology as specifically applied to skin cancer. She received her medical education at New York University, followed by an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, Dermatology residency at OHSU, and a fellowship in Mohs surgery at California Skin Institute. She is currently fellowship director for the Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology fellowship in Oregon. She has achieved national recognition for her surgery and educational work, and is a sought after speaker at national and International Dermatology meetings. She serves on the Board of Directors for the largest Dermatologic Surgery organization, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
